The Client.
DeMontfort is the UK's leading fine art publisher and distributor of original paintings, exporting an unrivalled collection of innovative artwork to over 20 countries worldwide. DeMontforts portfolio includes a broad range of originals and limited editions (many of them hand-embellished), glassware and sculpture by award-winning, international artists including Charlotte Atkinson, Adam Barsby, Gary Hodges and Kevin Blackham, as well as the freshest new talents such as Doug Hyde, Emilija Pasagic and Jonathan Shaw.
After deciding to move premises, Head of Operations, Justin Mountford, sought a solution that would allow him to easily transfer a huge selection of pre wrapped product.
The Challenge.
In acquiring a new building, DeMontfort was greeted with the challenge of space maximisation. The new building had both lateral and vertical space and rather than waste what was available, a bespoke package was sought.
Products to be stored included a selection of larger format pictures, as well as pictures of various shapes and designs. Protection of this artwork was paramount as they were retail items destined for the homes and businesses of discerning customers.
With a clear idea of storage requirements, based on the old location, Justin and his team needed only the right supplier.
The Solution.
Having met with the team, Metalrax Storage’s Regional Sales Manager, Gary Roberts produced a design based on the size and shape of both the facility and the products to be stored. Gary’s solution was to specify Widespan racking, which maximised vertical as well as lateral storage space.
Justin Mountford takes up the story; “We were very impressed with the amount of existing product that Metalrax Storage was able to salvage from our old premises, and then successfully incorporate into the new design.
